River Ride - Mae Hong Son, Thailand | ||
---|---|---|
Lunch stop (101k) Here is the restaurant
where we enjoyed lunch. We ate in the back overlooking the river.
|
Our boat (90k) This is our transportation up the river
to our next destination.
|
Our trusty navigator (67k) His job is to watch for oncoming boats
and rocks, and weigh down the front of the boat.
|
Gathering minerals (85k) Locals come to the river to get minerals
like these
folks. These minerals are dredged, shoveled into large piles on
the banks, then loaded onto pickup trucks.
|
Beautiful scenery (88k) Along the banks! Mae Hong Son province
is the least densely populated in all of Thailand.
|
Tourist (116k) The roads around here are narrow, winding
passages through the mountains. Travel by river is a good alternative.
